What items am I talking about?  Items you no longer need or use such as your kids old toys;  clothes that no longer fit,  VCR tapes or other media that you don’t need.  You get the idea.  Only keep the stuff that you absolutely love and use regularly.

At some point during your move, you will have to decide on what to bring, what to donate, what to trash, and what to sell.  The following 3 questions will help you visualize where you are going and will assist you with your moving items.

1) Where are you moving to?
a)  A single family home
b)  An apartment
c)  To temporary housing

2) Who are you moving with?
a)  Your family with children and/or pets
b)  Your spouse / significant other
c)  Nobody
d)  Your parents

3)  What size home are you moving to?
a)  A  larger home
b)  A smaller home
c)  The same size home
